In digging into the new-to-me lyrics and reexamining the ones I'd known, I was quickly reminded that people bring a great deal of their own meanings to songs, and frequently end up being at odds with not only each other buy the lyricists as to what each was intended to mean. I like that the late Neil Peart had his representatives finally send a cease and desist order to U.S. politician Rand Paul, who kept publicly quoting this song in what he saw as the shared context of Libertarianism by way of Objectivism.
